The 24th annual Covington Three Rivers Art Festival, one of the largest juried art festivals in the Southeast region, will look a little different this year. Instead of a traditional festival in Downtown Covington, the event will be held virtually on Saturday, November 14, 2020 from 10AM to 5PM via the Covington Three Rivers Art Festival Facebook page. Art lovers will have the opportunity to shop the work of 50 juried artists from across the U.S. – in a variety of mediums – from the comfort of home.
“Due to event restrictions and safety concerns, we knew this year’s show would look different from our traditional festival atmosphere,” says Three Rivers Art Festival Coordinator Sarada Bonnett. “But despite the ongoing challenges posed by COVID-19, we are so grateful for the opportunity to continue to showcase our incredible artists and make their work available to the public. This is going to be an incredible show!”
The virtual sale will showcase 10+ artists per hour over, with each artist selling several of their top pieces. Viewers will be able to ask questions and purchase directly from the artists through the live chat. Advance registration is not required. A complete schedule will be posted on the Three Rivers Facebook page.
Each year, Three Rivers typically draws more than 60,000 people to downtown Covington to shop the work of more than 200 talented artists from all over the United States, including many from the Greater New Orleans region. One of the Northshore’s largest annual events, the festival takes place on Columbia Street in the city’s Cultural Arts District. The showcased artwork ranges from painting to metalwork and everything in between.
