Men Who Cook is celebrating its 10th year with a new twist! For the first time ever, Hope House will welcome several female community leaders to its celebrity roster!
"What began a decade ago as a rallying call to the men of our community to stand up for the defenseless has turned into a much greater collective effort to put an end to child abuse in St. Tammany and Washington parishes," says Executive Director Thomas Mitchell. "Hope House has received such an overwhelming response from both men and women who are passionate about our cause and want to take a stand for our community’s children. We are honored to include local female leaders in our event moving forward!"
On Sunday, November 5 in Downtown Covington, local "celebrities" (community leaders) team up with top local restaurants to compete to raise the most money for Hope House, and to see who can create the best dish! Event patrons sample all the gourmet creations and vote for their favorites to determine the "People's Choice" award winners, and our panel of guest judges will conduct a blind tasting to determine the "Judges Choice" award winners.
In addition to tastings of each team's featured dish, the event also includes complimentary wine and beer, live music by Groovy 7, a silent auction and more!
In the weeks leading up to the big Men Who Cook event, our celebrity + restaurant teams will compete to raise money for Hope House by running their own special events and promotions. You can donate online toward your favorite team through Saturday, November 4 to help them win the award for "Most Money Raised for Hope House!"
Every dollar raised will provide hope, healing and justice to local child abuse victims.
